British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut. G. M. A. Maxwell.), mounted for wear; 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Italy Star Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Air Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R. (Act. Sqn. Ldr. G. M. A. Maxwell. A.A.F.), in its named card box of issue, the Second War awards in their waxed envlopes and box of issue, named to 'F/L G. M. A. Maxwell, Lowlands, Tettenhall, Nr. Wolverhampton', with Air Council enclosure and qualifying slip, stamped from H.M.T. Pasteur, with Maxwell as Adjutant, good very fine (10)

George Marmaduke Allison Maxwell was born on 7 December 1896 at Seacombe, Cheshire and originally served in the ranks of the Denbighshire Yeomanry (No. 1602). Transferred to the Royal Welch Fusiliers and thence commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the South Wales Borderers, Maxwell served in France from August 1916 and applied for his Medals in January 1922. He returned to the fold during the Second World War and was awarded his Air Efficiency Medal in the rank of Acting Squadron Leader. Maxwell died on 16 December 1965 at Lowlands, Tettenhall; sold together with pressed card identity tag, this impressed 'Lieut. G M A Maxwell SWB CE', silk escape map of north Africa, besides buttons, riband bars and copied research.
