Wallace Edgar Fleming was born at Newport, Isle of Wight on 7 January 1872. During the Great War he served aboard Leander from November 1914-March 1915 and then Attentive from 3 March 1915. He would have been present when she was bombed by German aircraft off Ostend on 7 September 1915, with loss of 8 lives.
