Alfred Senior, was born at Thorpe St Matthew, Norfolk, one of nine children of Alfred and Kate Senior. He was living at 116 Quebec Road and was a milkman by trade upon his enlistment on 9 November 1914. Senior served in France with the 9th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment from 7 October 1915 and was admitted to hospital on 29 November 1915. Removed to 'A' Company, 7th Battalion, he most likely earned his M.M. during the actions around Bouzincourt in August 1916, the award confirmed in the War Diary on 11 September. Senior was killed on 28 April 1917, when the unit were based at Haigh Street, Arras and is buried in the Vis-en-Artois Cemetery, Haucourt. His Military Medal was presented posthumously to his father; sold together with copied research and service record.
