Francis Archibald Farquharson served attached to the 1st Sappers and Miners during the Great War and also earned a 'mention' (London Gazette 4 January 1917 refers) beside his decoration; sold together with corresponding miniature awards, the C.I.E. badge removed and mounted upon a full-width section of riband.
