1898 (6 Nov.) envelope and letter from an officer on H.M.S. 'Undaunted' stationed at Wei-Hai-Wei to his father in Kent bearing Hong Kong 2c. carmine strip of five tied by Hong Kong (19.11) c.d.s. and, on the reverse, Cranbrook arrival (19.12).

The long letter gives some details of his ship's movements prior to arriving in Wei-Hai-Wei and practising their fore and aft rigging. He lists the ships there as H.M. Ships Centurian, Victorious, Undaunted, Narcissus, Sphyinca, Alacrity and Peacock and that the rest of the ships were still at Hong Kong or Manila. Photo

1898年11月6日威海䘙寄英國肯特封帶原信函, 是由一名英軍於軍艦"Undaunted"上寫畢後, 寄給其住肯特的父親, 11月19日經香港時補貼香港女皇票二仙五枚, 並銷中轉日戳, 封背有12月19日肯特Cranbrook到達戳. 信中大意講述其艦隊原威海䘙進駐的情况及艦隊的其他艦隻介紹並將會到香港或馬尼拉渡假等. 品相中上. 源流: 2014年1月Elling O. Eide.
