1827 (6 January) LS to King Francis I announcing the death of his brother Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany. An emotional letter containing sentiments such as "Brought up and educated together from our earliest childhood, I was most fervently attached to this dear Brother, and his death overwhelms me with affliction.". Signed "George R" on mourning paper folded in the usual manner to a thin rectangle sealed in black wax bearing the King's crest and attaching black silk ribbon to front and back. Fine. Photo
