1743 (26 April) LS from St James's to Charles III of Naples and Sicily. George II remarks on the ordering of "the Marquis Fogliani, your Envoy Extraordinary to the States General of the United Provinces, to repair to my court". The King continues to compliment the envoy's "prudent manner". Signed "George R". Witten on paper folded in the usual manner to thin rectangle, sealed with wax stamp bearing crest of George II and attaching red silk ribbon to front and back. Fine. Photo

These remarks refer to negotiations over the ongoing War of the Austrian Succession and were written just weeks before the Battle of Dettingen
