William Hay, 4th Ear of Kinnoull
1667 (29 November) letter of attorney from William Hay, Earl of Kinnoul to Patrick Hayes, to receive from the officers of the Exchequer of the Receipt £300 to be paid to Kinnoul by debenture from Sir Robert Howard, written on page with tears throughout and large repair to the reverse Signed "Kinnoule".

William Hay, 4th Ear of Kinnoull (-1677) Scottish peer and soldier, known for his loyalty to the Crown. In joint forces with James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose, Hay fought for Charles I. During the Battle of Carbisdale Hay was captured twice and escaped twice.
