Great Britain: Boots Cash Chemists (Lancashire) Ltd., 'A' preference shares of £1, (1931), #3458, signed by Lord Trent (John Campbell Boot) as director, blue, red seal. Now a household name, Boots was formed in Nottingham by his father in 1849. Jesse Boot (1851-1931), retail chemist. Took over his father's business at an early age, based in Nottingham, and tranformed it into a national chain. Boot was knighted in 1909, created a baronet in 1916, and created Baron Trent, of Nottingham in 1929. He died in June 1931 and his son John Campbell Boot became 2nd Lord Trent. VF and rare.
