Great Britain: Rochdale Canal Company, certificate for [5] shares, 18[05], #4053 to 4057, black, paper seal lower left. Incorporated in 1792 to build a 32 mile broad canal from the Bridgewater Canal in Manchester to the Calder & Hebble Navigation at Sowerby Bridge. Completed in 1804 and finally closed in 1952. Some damp staining at left, otherwise AVF and scarce.
