1888 (18 Sept.) opened-out envelope to Philadelphia bearing, on the reverse, rough perf.12½ 3ca. mauve right margin block of four (includes cliché 2) cancelled by Tientsin seal type VI in black and Customs Tientsin c.d.s. with Customs Shanghai (22.9) alongside. The address side bearing pair of Japan Koban 5s. blue tied by smudged cork cancellations with I.J.P.A. Shanghai (22.9) and Yokohama (28.9) c.d.s.; further U.S. transit marks on the reverse including the arrival c.d.s. (22.10). An attractive double weight cover. Photo

Cliché 2 sitting in the third column of the right pane is not from setting II as clichés 6 and 7 are not present so suggests setting VII


1888年9月18日天津寄美國賓夕凡尼亞剖開封，信封背貼三分齒度十二度半帶右邊紙四方連(包括有子模2)，銷天津黑色四型橢圓中文戳，及天津海關戳，旁有9月22日上海海關日戳，封正面貼日本藍色小判5錢票一對，銷較模糊9月22日上海日本客郵戳，及9月28日橫濱日戳，在封背另有往美國的中轉戳及10月22日美國到達戳，令人心儀的雙倍郵資封._x000D_ _x000D_ 子模2在左格的第三段，但不是由第二版式，即如子模6及7不會出現於第七版式
