The following lots comprise entries for the competitions for ½d., 2½d. and 5d. postage stamps, 1d. and 2d. postcards, and ½d. and 1d. newspaper wrappers. Each entry was submitted under a "nom de plume" and this together with the entry number is given at the beginning of each description

"Virtus sub pondere crescit" (No. 5): 2d. with stamp depicting Queen's head, frame and legend with ship in centre, G.P.O. building at upper left and frame of viniculture, corn, emu and kangaroo etc.; 2½d., three designs and 5d., four designs, all with Queen's head over arms (2), ships (3), arms and map of Australia, and map of Australia and globe; all fairly well drawn in pen and ink.
