Camp Number 2: A photograph album which has been made from an autograph album bearing personal photographs (96) taken in the 1920's which belonged to M.T. Allan, Camp no.2. The pictures include many of family and friends, some of his time serving in the navy , s/s 'Rajah of Sarawak', several additional pictures taken on his travels with some Dyak natives, a group behind the crocodile caught in Binatang, Sarawak, a few of Singapore including Pasir Panjang Road and Keppel Golf Club course (3) and many others. The significance of this album is that the pictures have been stamped/tied by the Japanese censor handstamp of Borneo Prisoner of War Camp in purple (Tett fig. 6-10-41), without the individual censor's seal. The cover is naturally worn but represents what was allowed in these camps and just how precious a book such as this would have been to the prisoner. Photo
