1942 (17 Aug.) 15c. blue registered postal stationery envelope (size g), overprinted "dai nippon/ 2602" with Alorstar registration label, addressed to Penang, showing boxed "a.r." on face, uprated to the "advise receipt" rate with Dai Nippon 5c. yellow (4) cancelled with "alor star/ kedah/ yubin kyoku", c.d.s. (Proud JD2) in blue, opened by Japanese censor who applied chop in violet and resealed using wax seal on both sides. Indistinct arrival c.d.s. applied to reverse. A superb and visually stunning showpiece, paying an extremely rare rate. Photo.
