The mail went by Qantas on the Singapore - Sydney section of the "Horseshoe" route, then to New Zealand by T.E.A.L. The route from Auckland to San Francisco was flown by Pan American Clipper, then by internal airlines to New York, and via Trans-Atlantic Clipper to Lisbon, and finally by KLM to destination
1940 (12 Dec.) envelope from Singapore to Switzerland, marked "To Lisbon via New Zealand and USA", franked at $2.65 and showing Censor label at left. Rare, only two covers recorded at this rate. Photo
