1931 (14 May) envelope from Singapore to Lyon, France, marked "Air Mail (Dutch), Alor Star - Amsterdam", franked on reverse at 62c. (12c. surface + 50c. air fee) and cancelled with "raffles /singapore" double-ring d.s. with Penang (15.5), Paris and arrival datestamps alongside and showing, on face, "by air mail" and "par hydravion/voie air orient" labels; the face panel with some light staining. Note: This cover was taken by train to Penang to connect with KLM flight at Alor Star, arriving Amsterdam on 24 May. At Amsterdam it connected with Air Orient's seaplane service to destination.
