Australia - Singapore Service and Return
The Brisbane - Singapore section of the Australia - England route was inaugurated on 10 December, with Qantas operating the Brisbane - Darwin section, and Imperial, under contract to Qantas, the Darwin - Singapore section. The mail left Darwin on 13 December and arrived in Singapore on the 15th.
1934 (11 Dec.) envelope from Darwin to Singapore, franked at 9d. and signed by V. Gary Wilson, Commander of "Athena"; and 1934 (8 Dec.) Hong Kong 4c. stationery card from Hong Kong to New South Wales and carried on the first return flight from Singapore to Darwin, marked "Per London - Australia Airmail via Singapore" and uprated 16c. A fine pair of first flights
