Kingsford Smith in the "Southern Cross" took over from Imperial Airways at Akyab on 6 May and flew it to Darwin for transfer to Qantas, which arrived in Melbourne on 14 May.
1931 (4 May) envelope registered from Kuching to Montreal, franked at 86c., showing "by air mail" etiquette with typed "singapore - London", violet registration handstamp and, on reverse, Singapore (8.5) and arrival (13.6) datestamps. Photo
