1935 Singapore - Hong Kong Survey Flight
Two Singapore III Flying-boats of No. 205 Squadron, commanded by Wing-Commander C. L. Scott, made a nine days' cruise to Hong Kong and back in June, to test new aircraft and explore the possibility of commercial flight between the two cities. They returned to Singapore by way of Manila and Labuan.
1935 (24 June) envelope flown from Hong Kong to Singapore, marked "RAF Survey Flight, Hong Kong to Manila, June 25, 1935", franked at 20c. and showing clear arrival datestamp of 1 July. Rare, only 5 covers flown. Photo
