1927 Miller and Lancaster Red Rose Flight Calcutta - Singapore
During their England to Australia flight in an Avro Avian III, G-EBTU, Mrs Miller and Captain Lancaster carried mail from Calcutta on 21 December to Akyab, Rangoon, Singapore and Australia. Mrs Miller became the first lady to fly to Singapore, arriving 7 January 1928.

1927 (18 Dec.) envelope from Calcutta addressed to Manila, marked "Via Singapore. By Air", bearing "Red Rose" pink label and India ½a. (3) tied by Park Street, Calcutta double-ring d.s. and showing, on reverse, Singapore (9.1), Orchard Road and Manila (25.10) datestamps; non-contemporary ink notation at lower left. The owner states that 12 covers were flown on this leg. Photo
