1926 Alan Cobham England - Singapore - Australia Flight
On 30 June Alan Cobham, in a DH50J G-EBFO, began a 26,000 mile flight from England to Australia and back. He arrived at Singapore on 29 July and Darwin on 5 August. The purpose of the flight was to promote British aviation and demonstrate the practicalities of commercial air routes.

1926 (30 June) stampless envelope addressed to Melbourne, typewritten "carried by alan j. cobham, on de haviland 50 seaplane, departed. June 30th 1926/arrived. Darwin Aug 5th 1926" (dates in manuscript), signed Alan J. Cobham and numbered "5". Only ten carried and with note from Alan Cobham confirming the authenticity of the cover. Photo.
