1911 Ross Smith England - Australia Flight
Ross Smith, Keith Smith, J.M. Bennett and W.H. Shiers left London on 12 November in a Vickers "Vimy" G-EAOU and arrived in Singapore on 4 December and Darwin 10 December, winning the £10,000 England-Australia air race. Mail was taken on board in England, more was uplifted en-route including Singapore.
1920 (26 Feb.) Raffles Hotel envelope addressed to Mrs Grace Caster in Sydney, bearing blue vignette label and Australia KGV 1d., both tied by "first aerial mail/great britain to australia" oval d.s., fine. Rare, one of twelve recorded covers originating in Singapore. Photo
