Values of Griqualand used prior to the latter becoming a province within Cape Colony
1879 (13 Apr.) envelope from Barkly to Rev. Moffat at "Molepolole, Zeerust, Transvaal", bearing 1878 Type 15 4d. blue horizontal pair sharing "4" in oval of bars cancellation and with despatch double-arc datestamp alongside, Marico datestamp (21.4) at foot, the reverse with Kimberley (14.4) and Klerksdorp (16.4) datestamps, the latter in grey-blue, and manuscript "The G printed on these stamps refers to Griqualand which i think was under separate administration at that time. J Moffat 21.6.2" (1902?); the envelope and adhesives with a few small imperfections though rare stamps on cover. Photo
