Type numbers quoted in this and the following sections are those by Stanley Gibbons. There are sub-types of Types 1, 2, 7 and 12 and when quoted these are used by H.R. Holmes in his article in the London Philatelist, November 1962, etc.
1878 (June) Issue
½d. grey-black Type 16 in red, a left-hand pane of sixty with wing-margin at right and sheet margin at foot, variety overprint inverted, mint with some unmounted; a few with fox marks though generally fine and a rare multiple. S.G. 15a, £1,680+
