Ukuambi Tribe
1941-77 Group of (4) registration cards with 1951 control card, the first paid for 1936-39 with 1931 postage ½d. black and emerald surcharged "Ukuambi/ 5/-" in red (4), the second with a strip of four 1931 postage 1d. indigo and scarlet similarly surcharged in red with diamonds obscuring original value, the third quite horribly stained bearing payment for the years 1941-44 with 1937 postage 1½d. purple-brown surcharged "Ukuambi/ 5/-" in black, the last card bearing labels for 1976 and 77. A rare group despite some condition problems, only eleven stamped cards are recorded from this tribe. Photo
