William Spooner envelope Number 2, dated 9 Nov. 1840, from Winchester to Mrs. Payne at Ixworth, Suffolk, red manuscript P1 and datestamps of Winchester and London on the front, "turned" and addressed to the son of Mrs. Payne at Rev. Dr. Taylors school at Dedham, Essex, franked by 1840 1d. Black, Plate V, EC, good to large margins and tied by a crisp red Maltese Cross cancellation with light framed Ixworth/Penny Post at upper right; seal removed from reverse. Fine, an extraordinary and very rare usage. R.P.S. Certificate (1998). Photo
