Burma - Japanese occupation balance of the five frame gold/reserve grand medal collection comprised of mint and used singles, numerous blocks of four and larger multiples, varieties, proofs, forgeries and covers mounted on exhibition pages and still containing numerous better items such as (mint unless noted) S.G. #J19, J22a block of sixteen (8x2), J23 corner block of 24 (8x3), J23a used block cataloged as mint as it is unpriced as used, J1 block (toned), J2 (4), J7 (4), J8 block of eight (2x4), J9-14 blocks, J15 block of 31, J16-17 blocks J25, J26 corner block, J27 block of sixteen (8x2), J27 used block, J29 block of 32 (8x4), J30 block of sixteen (8x2), the top row showing misplace overprints, J31 used block, J32 corner block, J33 pair, J44 with RPS certificate, J44 pair showing both bases, J45 block, good surcharges on Japanese stamps with J47-56, J54a, J56 & J56f unlisted se-tenant pair, J56fa, J59 (4) and a used pair, J60 (3), J62 tied to piece, J63 (5), J64a tied to piece, J65-68, J69 block, J70a, J71, J72ab, J75a block of six, J84a in pair with normal and J98-104, we carefully cataloged the stamps and came up with a total of £15,432, but there is much else, including a study of forgeries of all issues, varieties, especially of the Farmer issues and perhaps most importantly covers, including Farmer (4), 1944 overprints (2), free franks (2) and prisoner of war (8) and ending with 20 December 1945 BMA cover made from a Japanese map, the overall condition is quite good with only the occasional problem noted among the stamps, covers in typical condition, some signed Milo Rowell or Adgey-Edgar; viewing is essential to appreciate and a pleasure as well.
