#225, 5c Violet Meched Provisional on wove paper, first state printing with late contral without extra loop, a postally used example with a rare violet Choutchan cancel, clear margins all around and remnants of brown gum on the reverse, fine; cancels other than Meched are extremely rare and the town of Choutchan is the rarest but also best documented; G. Karman documented only five examples known, all on 5c Violet, one on cover, one on card, one on piece and two loose stamps; signed W. Sellschopp slightly showing through.
