Early India, Kashi Janapada (c.600-525 BC), Shana, 0.83g, thin ovoid Bar with two complex circular punches either end, Kosala Janapada (c.525-465 BC), ½-Vimshatika (3), Karshapana (4), four main symbols punched on each, some with later additions and bankers marks (Rajgor ser.53, 58, 62, 65; MAC 3851-52, 3854-66), the Shana broken and repaired, otherwise very fine, most good fine to good very fine, an interesting group (8)
Kashi was an area centred on modern-day Banaras. Kosala Janapada originally held land slightly to the north, but conquered the Kashi area in 525 BC)
