1873 (3 Nov.) envelope to Ohio with letter headed "Edina, Grand Bassa", showing fine "monrovia/liberia" circular h.s., manuscript "7d paid", "paid/liverpool/br. packet/3a" c.d.s. (28.12) in red and, on reverse, New York Paid All (10.1) and arrival datestamps. The letter states the stock of stamps has been robbed from the Treasury Dept. and that stamps are not allowed to be used. Photo
