Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.46g, Helmet type, Salisbury, Godwine, bust left in armour and radiate helmet, rev. +GODPNE MΩO SERE, long cross voided, each limb terminating in three crescents, over square with three pellets at each point (N775; S1152), a few peck marks, attractively toned, good very fine, scarce.
