Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.37g, Helmet type, Gloucester, Leofsige, bust left in armour and radiate helmet, rev. +L•EOFSIGE M’O GL•EA, long cross voided, each limb terminating in three crescents, over square with three pellets at each point (N775; S1152), a surface crack to the obverse, otherwise very fine, rare.
