Anglo-French Accountancy Marks
— 1871 (19 May) blue commercial entire from Shanghai to Paris "via Marseilles" with Shanghai despatch c.d.s. on the reverse, bearing a good strike of the type N diamond accountancy handstamp with neat Hong Kong c.d.s. (25.5) on the reveres, rated "1/10" in red ink with handstruck "20" in black and a very good strike of the straight-line "insufficiently prepaid__" handstamp in blue and two french transit c.d.s. There is a repaired patch in the top right corner of this cover although no postage stamps are missing. An appealing cover nevertheless and a good example of this scarce marking. Webb R. Photo
