Imperial French Eagle, adapted from a belt plate, 100mm x 90mm, with an engraved brass plaque affixed to the reverse stating 'FRENCH EAGLE. Picked up on the field of WATERLOO, on June 28th, 1815, by Samuel Harrison, Boston, Lincolnshire', a little polished, very fine
A Samuel Harrison served with the 43rd Foot on the Peninsular, being awarded a 7 clasp Military General Service Medal. The Regiment returned to Europe too late from North America to play a role at the Battle of Waterloo, 18.6.1915, although a number of their Officers were on the Staff.
