1870 Stamp Statute 4d. handpainted essay in grey and sepia, with photographic print of a hand-drawn head inserted and hand-drawn simulated perforations, on thin card (68x95mm.), endorsed "1869" to correct the coin inscription 1870 and dated "17.11.70" on the reverse; some minor staining, well away from the design.
