Third Mahratta War
1818 (1 June) autograph letter to a fellow officer, signed by Lieutenant A. Grant from Nepaunee, describing the siege of that place and with a rough sketch of the octagonal citadel and surrounding fortifications, plus other operations during the second Mahratta War, mentioning the commander, General Munro.

An interesting campaign letter which includes, "We sat down before Nepaunee this morning, but have as yet refrained form commencing hostilities ... I have been there twice and got permission to go along the crest of the Glacis which will enable me to draw a Sketch of the place & pettah. It is very strong and in my opinion has ample claim to the name which it has got in this part of the Country". Photo
