James I (1603-25), third coinage 1619-25, fine gold Rose-Ryal of 30-Shillings, 12.52g, m.m. spur rowel both sides, iacobvs d: g: ma - bri: fr: et hib: rex., king enthroned, holding orb and fleur-tipped sceptre, back of throne garnished with a semée of thistles, portcullis at his feet, rev. a dno: factvm est istvd et est mirab: in oc: nris., plain square topped shield on cross fleury, value xxx above, encircled by a band with lis, lions, and roses (N.2108; Schneider 77; S.2632), lightly double struck on reverse and some short scratches to right of the shield, otherwise a magnificent full round coin with a superb and realistic portrait, extremely fine and rare
