1702 (c.) neat wrapper "To the right Worshiple Edward Clarke Esq., a member of the honorable house of Comons, to be left at ye Parliament house, London", with "3" rate mark and a good strike of small, first type examiner's Crown handstamp in black (Willcocks & Jay L150) and with indistinct Bishop mark on the flap. Edward Clarke (died 1723) was a Whig Alderman and a worsted weaver, Clarke was elected mayor in 1700 and MP for Norwich in 1701 but defeated in the August 1702 and in the November 1703 elections
