#138, 7c Vermilion with grill, well centered and used along with 1c Ultramarine (#156) and 3c Green (#158) on buff registered cover, "Peotone, Ill./Feb 8" datestamp ties the 1c, very fine; an unusual and colorful late usage of the 7c grilled Bank Note to pay the short lived reduced 8c registry fee of 1 January 1874 to 30 June 1875.
