1905 (28 Oct.) envelope (no flap and one corner damaged) from Girofia to Hobart franked at 2d., compulsorily registered as "Supposed to contain value", showing manuscript "Defic postage 2d./Fine 2d/Reg. fee 3d." in red ink and with original charge of "3D" altered to "7D" (demonstrating that no fine was payable on unpaid registration), and 1907 (1 July) envelope from Mitchell to Hobart, similarly treated and bearing Postage Due 3d., lightly tied by c.d.s., technically incorrect as the registration fee is for a service and not part of the postage rate.
