Sixth Sideface Issue with Figures of Value at Foot
1897 (2 July) double rate envelope (209x96mm.) registered from Mitchell to England, bearing 1d. block of eight (2x4) with each pair cancelled by superb sunburst "80" and with "registered/mitchell." handstamp alongside, despatch c.d.s. and London Registered d.s. (9.8) below, Brisbane Registered c.d.s. (4.7) on reverse; a few small imperfections though the largest recorded used block and single franking of this stamp. Also 1897 (July) envelope (a little soiled) from Dalby to Finland bearing 1d. in combination with 1882-91 4d. and 1885-96 ½d. with light barred numerals and with c.d.s. at foot, the reverse with six transit datestamps, and 1897 (Oct.) envelope from Brisbane to Germany bearing 1d. (2) with 1885-96 2½d. and 5d. all cancelled by "R" in oval handstamps and with c.d.s. alongside; an unusual pair
