Sixth Sideface Issue with Figures of Value at Foot
1897 (27 Feb.) printed matter "Returns Only" letter from Brisbane addressed locally, the stamp cancelled by octagonal datestamp and with arrival c.d.s. (27.2) on reverse; a very rare example of the printed matter rate within Brisbane. Also 1896 (27 Oct.) front (some damage) with a 1d. paying the town rate within Rockhampton. These two items represent the only two items of mail found by the owner bearing this 1d. value used alone. Photo
