1898 (9 July) unstamped envelope to England, marked "No stamps procurable" and with a good strike of the "the royal niger company/Chartered & Limited./burutu" datestamp alongside, "2d/466" and "½d/466" Liverpool tax handstamps applied partially over one another to form "2½d" charge mark, the reverse with Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (17.8); small faults though the earliest recorded date of use of this rare handstamp. Photo
