(x) Palestine Currency Board, a uniface obverse trial for a £50, ND (1937), green and pale yellow, value in pink guilloche at left, the Al-Jazzar Mosque in Acre at left with chuch tower visible (see Dabbah p.326), value at each corner
(Dabbah ND37-17), On the 7th April 1937 a series of proofs/designs were sent to the Currency Board in Palestine for approval. The proofs were discussed on April 19th and June 21st where a decision was taken to produce alternative designs (British Library C.S.B. 117/5 1937 volume). This series never adopted, this is the Dabbah plate note. Ink date '7.4.37' in low left margin, uncirculated and of the highest rarity
