6172 Private Harry Bird Gayton, M.M., born Battersea, London; enlisted in the Royal West Kent Regiment; served during the Great War with the 7th Battalion on the Western Front from 1.10.1915; three times wounded in action; died of wounds, 18.12.1917, and is buried in Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium.
