1869 (5 Feb.) envelope to Firenze, re-addressed to Milan bearing Egypt 1867-71 20pa. green (pair) tied by "poste vice reali egiziane suez/5/feb./69" c.d.s., carried to Alexandria and there 1863-65 40c. rose affixed and tied by light "234" in lozenge of dots, "alessandria d'egitto/poste italiane/6/feb/64" c.d.s. and black boxed "piroscafi/postali/italiani" alongside; cleaned and repaired, nevertheless a most unusual departure from Suez and a very rare 20pa. usage. The earliest know usage of the 40c. on a combination cover. Photo
