China, Xikang Provincial Bank, half Rupee, 28th year of the Republic (1939), black serial number D 0021951 printed on obverse and same number in red on reverse, red and yellow, obverse landscape near Kangding with Tibetan monastery in the foreground. Tibetan inscription on reverse reads: khams gshing chen gyi dngul mdzod khang ("bank of the Kham Province")/ sgor mo phyed ("half rupee"; this inscription is also placed in the upper right and lower left corners on both sides of the note)/ krung yang tshes grang pu bka´ gnang ("by order of the Minister of Finance"), (Pick S1739), uncirculated and very rare in this grade
