1890 (9 Nov.) letter sheet from Arthur Puzey, written on the way from Hartley Hill to Manicualand, to his brother Andrew at East London, bearing 1889 4d. on ½d. (S.G. 53) cancelled by Palachwe Khamas Town c.d.s. with a further part strike alongside, the reverse (part flap missing) with Mafeking (9.12), Kimberley (12.12) and East London (16.12) datestamps; the contents (transcript provided) include "We had just built our hut..... when Capt. Heany came up and said he wanted 3 of our party to go into Manica Land" and continues with lists of supplies that Andrew should bring with him when he joins his brother. Drysdall and Collis Arp. 20.
