Straits SettlementsIndia used in Singapore1855 (10 July) entire letter addressed to "Capt. John Murray, Grenadier Guards, British Expedition, Crimea", marked "Via Alexandria", bearing 1854 4a. blue and red 4th printing pair with small to large margins, both neatly cancelled by diamond of hollow dots and showing, on reverse Alexandria British P.O. transit datestamp in blue. One of three recorded letters to the Crimea, of which two are franked with a pair of 4a., this one being in much finer condition. One of the great Straits Settlements 1854 frankings.
