x British Post Offices Abroad Peru 1870 (22 May) entire letter from Tacna to France, bearing 1868 1d. green tied by fine double-ring d.s. and in combination with G.B. 1858 2d. blue Plate 15 and 1863 3d. rose Plate 5 wing-margin pairs (2) all cancelled with Arica "C36" duplex, showing two London Paid c.d.s. (29.6), "angl./amb. calais b" c.d.s. (30.6) and oval-framed "pd", all on face, Callao British P.O. c.d.s. and three French transit c.d.s. on reverse, underpaid though not taxed, the correct rate for a 1/2oz. letter to France being 1/8d.; some faults in places, nevertheless considered the finest of only two covers recorded showing use of the "C36" duplex.
